1. 80% of all votes in America are counted by only two companies: Diebold and ES&S.

2. There is no federal agency with regulatory authority or oversight of the US voting machine industry.

3. The vice-president of Diebold and the president of ES&S are brothers.

How The Media Uses Gay Issues To Hurt Democrats

Is this the face of homosexuality in America? As far as the mainstream press is concerned, yes. At gay rallies, CNN is not going to show Rachel Maddow speaking. They will thow this man on the left. I found this image as the face for a gay pride parade. Every election year, we see more and more gay people being married and the issue gets hotter and hotter as elections approach. There is a problem with this.

First, before I'm hammered with accusations of intolerance, I am for gay marriage, gay rights as well as hate crime legislation. The problem is this: We Democrats and liberals are already for gay marriage, and pushing the issue only motivates the other side.

Now that I'm getting older, I recognize this pattern. Maybe gay couples are always getting licences in jurisdictions where it's illegal, but it seems as if the news waits until near the election to show it, and it freaks out the religious right as well as the silent non-religious bigoted majority. What happens then is that we come out in our regular numbers but they come out in record numbers because they think they are saving the world when they vote.

So what am I saying? Go back in the closet? No. I'm saying that we should try our best not to motivate republicans who might not otherwise vote. Remember, if the Gay Pride parade is ten miles long, CNN will only show the half naked weirdos trailing at the end of the parade, and those people motivate republicans. And even though weddings are normally innocuous events, illegal weddings still freak out the conservative, and worse, motivate them. I fully understand that the people we see on the news are the minority of gays in America, and the news does seek out the weird and inflammatory, but I feel that on election years, we should try our best to minimize undesired news.

Police Torture The Death Penalty and a little more Religion

My apologies for being away for so long.
We cover police torture, religion and our failing news media. Eugene Siler was beaten and threatened and tortured because cops believed he had drugs there. Apparently the local judge didn't believe it as much as they did because they didn't or couldn't or didn't bother to get a warrant. And this is the odd thing: The cops weren't willing to commit fraud and forge Eugene's signature. They weren't willing to Search the house without having him sign the form, but they were willing to beat and sexually torture him to force him to sign the form. Yes, I said sexually torture. When you attack testicles, that's sexual. It would be called such if a woman's genitals, even breasts, which are not genitals, were used to torture a suspect.

This is a special episode, aimed at Democrats only. It's a 40-minute rant about religion and how we Democrats have to learn how to reach out to the religious. We need to be tolerant and respectful of other people's beliefs, including those of people familiar to us. By that, I mean American Christians. This is no FOX "attack on Christmas" hallucination. It's become en vogue to make fun of Christian beliefs, and even write off whole states like Kansas because it's perceived as too Christian, with people like Bill Maher and George Carlin railing against us as if we're all kool-aide drinking right-wing Bush voters. Well, the day will come when we need Kansas to win an important election. Why anger an entire state and religion against us?

It is just a uncouth, just as rude and bigoted, to make fun of, or look down our noses at, people who believe in the rapture, or even snake handling. Sorry for all those commas. I personally think that snake handling is foolish and even sinful because it directly tests God, almost daring Him to heal you. But I just wouldn't make fun of them handling those snakes on national TV or on radio. It's as wrong as making fun of a person with eastern beliefs in reincarnation and joking that the roach they just stepped on was their mean grandfather. Yeah. Funny. Right? Not!
If we're going to lose this year, it just might be be partially because we threw away, or scared away, millions of votes from people who believe in charity, in health care for the poor, in clothing the naked, people who are largely and openly against George Bush's war. So why do we hand them a might "F-you" every election year? Sure, they are also largely against abortion, but don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. The fact is, the more they vote with us, the safer abortion rights remain, because less Republicans will be in power. So again, what does it benefit us to throw out the mainstream Christians with the pro-lifers? Nothing. It gives us sustained republican power, and depression, higher abortion rates, war, strife, hatred, nationalism and death over the horizon.

You say we're not throwing out the mainstream Christians with the pro-lifers? Well I had something happen to me in 2004 on www.airamericaplace.com that actually made me feel oppressed as a Christian, and it made me wish I had someone to vote for besides Democrats. If the choice weren't so clear between the death dealers in the GOP and Kerry, I wouldn't have voted for Kerry in 2004. I honestly wished I had someone else to vote for! If that can happen with someone at liberal as me, imagine moderate Christians.

Republicans accept Christians even though Christian beliefs are largely against their agenda. Plus the Republicans don't even do anything about abortion after getting their vote. Why can't we take their votes by promising to do more with the homeless and downtrodden? That platform can be packaged to be very appealing to Christians. Christians pay money out of their pockets for programs like these and run them. They won't mind their taxes going for effective programs that save lives.? Are their votes not good enough for us?

It's time to embrace the religious.

Is the title shocking? Of course it's a bad thing to drop a nuclear bomb on a populated city. Only a terrorist would think otherwise. Right? Unless we're talking about Hiroshima or Nagasaki. This is a discussion about war and ethics. What's the right thing to do? Republicans like to play the realists in discussions like these, claiming that democrats are idealists when it comes to war. I don't think so. I believe that Republicans believe themselves all reincarnations of a gruff and stern war-wise General Patton. You might have heard the man last week lecturing me about war being hell. He then volunteered that he had never been in a war -- "but he knew all about it." It's like a rite of passage with them. As long as you think nothing of collateral damage, you're wise! If you consider the US soldier expendable, you're fine! If any way is a better way than the bloodiest way, you're naive to them.

The end justifies the means attitude of these people, and the blind faith in fools is the same mixture of malice and forethought that blended into the ubiquitous yet invisible evil that spurred the deaths of over ten million people in the Nazi death camps and forty more million people around the world. “It’s alright! It’s just alright! Why? Because we’re doing it to them and not us.”

I warn every American reading this that you don’t have to be an Arab to be one of “them.” You don’t have to be a Muslim to be one of “them.” You don’t even have to be a ferner to be “one of them.” All you need do is disagree with their politics. Leave the Republicans in power and the day is coming where not only does your vote not count, but your very life is forfeit if you dare disagree. It’s coming!

People are already being fired from their jobs for having Air American bumper stickers. Give it fifty years and we will be regularly shooting each other over politics. These people are ruining our culture and our standing in the world. Listen to them! Are they the voice of America? Sadly, yes! At least in times of long ago, the serfs and the downtrodden recognized the malice and avarice of the overseers and barons for what it was. Now we have average Americans making excuses for jack-booted thugs and billionaires who steal money from the very mouths of poor children, the sick, and under employed. These people have no concept that an entire industry has risen to zap the money of the poor even further with usurious fees and penalties, designed to keep people’s heads below the financial waters. I will do a show on that later.

I apologize for the quality of this recording. No matter what I did, it sounded like I was yelling. My computer corner of the house is in transition, and I actually did yell somewhere in there. I recently purchased a new USB headset mic and it’s a great noiseless high fidelity headphone. Amazing quality, but a crappy mic. I can’t use it for recording.

This podcast showcases classic GOP bigotry and depravity. I need not say more.

30,000 Iraqis Dead! Republican Zombies in Lock Step

I know I appear to have shaved the Red Cross count of 100,000+ Iraqis dead down to 30,000. This is only because this is what Bush Admits to. I still believe that especially if Bush says 30,000 are dead, that more are actually dead. After all no man in history has been known to fudge numbers in his favor more than GWB. But for the sake of arguing with the brainwashed, I choose to use sources that they respect.

Even with a 1.5-times increase in deaths since the invasion, the number of deaths would be more than 98,000, although this estimate would be much greater if Falluja data is included, the study showed.

Notice that Republicans now call conspiracy theorists anyone who disagrees with them. It doesn't matter that you're not talking about conspiracies, but things right out there in the open. Doesn't matter one bit.

They also come at you with the lame argument, do you claim to have some intel that Bush doesn't when talking about commonly known facts supplied by bush himself. This is what you get when you call all news "liberal" that you don't like. You end up painting yourself into a corner called ignorance.

I like my podcast host so far, but I have a 500 MB limit. Right now I can't purchase more space. There's just no option. And heck, since it's free right now, I really can't complain. I've converted the older ones to 40 kbps mp3s and all new ones will be at 56 kbps. But when I can no longer upload new ones, I will delete the older ones.

So if you have fond memories of older episodes, or if you've been planing to let a friend hear how stupid Republicans can be, I suggest downloading the older episodes you have in mind now.

We Are Not At War!

In today's episode, you hear republicans defending a total removal of human rights for Americans merely because they are named Enemy combatants. Remember: Bush stated back in late 2001 that he wanted to call them Enemy combatant and not POWs because he wanted to circumvent the Geneva conventions and get more than name rank and serial number out of POWs.

To be honest, I lost it in this episode before it even started. I lost it because I truly realized that I no longer live in a land with a free press. I can understand the press having a bias, but not a press that tells me wet is dry and cold is hot. I listened to them do just that when they commented on Bush's speech last week. In that speech, he tried to insinuate that his investigations had thwarted terrorist plots. The press talked for days about the “detail” Bush divulged. Here is the socalled “detail” from his speech transcript.

Lies Miserables

“Since September the 11th, the United States and our coalition partners have disrupted a number of serious al Qaeda terrorist plots -- including plots to attack targets inside the United States. Let me give you an example. In the weeks after September the 11th, while Americans were still recovering from an unprecedented strike on our homeland, al Qaeda was already busy planning its next attack. We now know that in October 2001, Khalid Shaykh Muhammad -- the mastermind of the September the 11th attacks -- had already set in motion a plan to have terrorist operatives hijack an airplane using shoe bombs to breach the cockpit door, and fly the plane into the tallest building on the West Coast. We believe the intended target was Liberty [sic] Tower in Los Angeles, California.*

Rather than use Arab hijackers as he had on September the 11th, Khalid Shaykh Muhammad sought out young men from Southeast Asia -- whom he believed would not arouse as much suspicion. To help carry out this plan, he tapped a terrorist named Hambali, one of the leaders of an al Qaeda affiliated group in Southeast Asia called "J-I." JI terrorists were responsible for a series of deadly attacks in Southeast Asia, and members of the group had trained with al Qaeda. Hambali recruited several key operatives who had been training in Afghanistan. Once the operatives were recruited, they met with Osama bin Laden, and then began preparations for the West Coast attack.

Their plot was derailed in early 2002 when a Southeast Asian nation arrested a key al Qaeda operative. Subsequent debriefings and other intelligence operations made clear the intended target, and how al Qaeda hoped to execute it. This critical intelligence helped other allies capture the ringleaders and other known operatives who had been recruited for this plot. The West Coast plot had been thwarted. Our efforts did not end there. In the summer of 2003, our partners in Southeast Asia conducted another successful manhunt that led to the capture of the terrorist Hambali.”

This entire podcast revolves around these words. Where does it say that “we” did anything?

I did this episode with my Vegas Video editing software instead of my Acid and I realized it was better than Acid for editing. The automatic crossfades make editing for pauses incredibly easy to fix. Just click the track in the middle of the pause, press S to split and drag. As long as it split in the middle, there is no noticeable fading between parts and it is clean. Who'da thunk it!? As stated last week, something corrupted my Acid software, and even when I uninstall/reinstalled it, it crashes on me now. Runs out of virtual memory. The weird thing is that in my tweaking to get this bug fixed, my computer is now faster than ever, but without Acid able to finish rendering files. Since I'm a computer technician who makes a living helping other people with their software/hardware problems, this is an embarrassing admission. But man! Video Vegas is great for editing audio, even better than the same company's audio editing program!

If we fire on them and kill them accidentally, we don’t even say “oops!” When we accidentally kill Canadian soldiers, westerners, we court marshal the people who did it. Hmmm, were they British now that I think of it? When a Middle Eastern man enters the room, the first thing they do is advocate genocide of Muslims, just to annoy him. These guys don't deserve the freedom and opulence they enjoy in America. They should be dodging American bombs in a third world country. If I had three wishes, every warmongering Republican would awaken an Iraqi citizen. Better yet! They would awaken, with their current memories, in the body of an innocent Iraqi being tortured, locked away for years.

I believe that Wise One epitomizes what I mean when I say that Republicans behave badly. No cursing, no epithets, just evil.

I listened to C-SPAN this morning and a Republican called up, upset, not at Bush for spying, but that somehow his spying had gotten out. Smugly, the Republican rank and file behave as if they know all about security because they've graduated the EIB Institute of Rush Limbaugh's lies and excuses.

I'm currently recovering from an incredibly painful and debilitating bug. If you listen closely to my commentary, you hear me getting sicker and sicker.

White phosphorus was used on the innocent and not-so innocent in Falujah. White phosphorus is fine as a flare or a smoke bomb if you just have to have a deadly flare or poisonous smoke bomb, but to specifically use it as a weapon, as the Pentagon has admitted, is a crime. - war crime. Do Republicans care about this?

When I argue with 20-year-old Republicans, they don't believe me when I say that Mark Fuhrman, a FOX news Contributor now, is the WORST kind of flaming racist and it reveals much about FOX news that they ally themselves with this man. 20-year-old Republicans were only ten when OJ was acquitted and I guess only heard through osmosis the ignorant angry spin of adults arguing about it. Much of the white community, and Ron Goldman's father, felt it was irrelevant to the case that Mark knew OJ Simpson, had arrested him before, and stated many times that he hated, abused and framed the black men he dealt with. You might say that, being a cop, Mark is exposed to the worst of the Black race, but he hated blacks and Mexicans, both as suspects and as colleagues.

Why did Robert Shapiro ask Fuhrman if he had used the word, nigger, in the past ten years? It was common knowledge:

"That's the guy who found the bloody glove?" Mr. Deutsch said to his wife. Mr. Deutsch happened to be familiar with the detective from a case in which police officers shot a black robbery suspect and then, Mr. Deutsch believes, planted evidence against him. After the newscast, Mr. Deutsch put in a call to Robert L. Shapiro on the Simpson legal team. He reported that the detective had once applied for a stress disability pension and had told psychiatrists that he had tortured suspects and hated "niggers."

Well I will never forget hearing the Mark Fuhrman tapes. I was born in the early 60s, during the tail end of the official civil rights struggle. While racism seems to have ebbed, I knew that the struggle didn't end with Dr. King, whose assassination shows that his job wasn't completed. But Mark showed me that I had no idea how much some white people, particularly cops still hated black people.

I'm sure that FOX management was at the age of majority during the trial. They had to know that this man had such a racially checkered past and his horrible quotes are readily available online. The bar for racism seems incredibly low, at least for Sean Hannity, who on a quantum level is at any point in time asking a guest if something a Democrat and/or a Black person said wasn't racist. But there's no such question about Mark from Sean, who warmly welcomes him to his show. Mark Furhman is not merely a man who said "nigger." Mark Fuhrman said that he wanted to kill them all, and his voice rang out world wide, shaming him for all to see. Yet Greta Van Susteren defends FOX's continued use of an avowed racist in the following excerpt from her web page:

Yes, Mark did wrong ... very wrong. But he paid a penalty and the penalty the justice system asked of him. Now it is time to move on. It is also time to recognize that people make mistakes -- commit crimes --— and, once completing their penalty, that we should forgive. If he REPEATED his conduct (lying on the witness stand), then I would have a very different view. Repeat offenders are in an entirely different category for me.

Mark was punished? Punished?I thought that Greta followed trials closely. Mark pleaded no contest to a perjury charge, was sentenced to probation, served no jail time, and paid a $200 fine while apparently garnering the sympathy of FOX News viewers. Seems to me that Republicans believe that law enforcement officers should be run out of town on a rail when they lie under oath. And forget about perjury. What about Mark Fuhrman admitting to much more serious crimes on tape such as assault and planting evidence?

Claimed as a consultant (on tape) that he would attend "kill parties" whenever a cop killed a black man.

"No, if I would have arrested the son of a bitch, I would have killed him. If I ever see the son of a bitch and we're alone, I would kill him...If there's nobody except him and me, dead men tell no tales."

"We stopped the choke because a bunch of Niggers have a bunch of these organizations in the south end, and because all Niggers are choked out and killed -- twelve in ten years. Really is extraordinary, isn't it?"
"Westwood is gone, the niggers have discovered it."
"There is going to be a massacre in the future and they know that. There is the Rolling 60's, nigger group they went into a sporting good store and stole 50 Uzis, 3,000 rounds."
"First thing, anything out of a nigger's mouth for the first five or six sentences is a fucking lie. That is just right out. There has got to be a reason why he is going to tell you the truth… You choke him out until he tells you the truth. You know it is kind of funny. But a lot of policemen will get a kick out of it."
"We basically get impatient with him being so fucking stupid. Which I thought he was. So I just handcuffed him and went the scenic route to the station. We searched him again and found the gun. Went over to the baseball diamond and talked to him. When I left, Dana goes, `No blood, Mark.' `No problem, not even any marks, Dana.' Just body shots. Did you ever try to find a bruise on a Nigger. It is pretty tough, huh?"

Now, some people might object to much of the foul language in this particular blog. It's all Mark's language. They might feel that it should be censored and might even judge me for reprinting it. Again, it's all Mark's language. The question these people should ask themselves is: Why not judge Mark for the words?

Why did I start this Blog and this Podcast?

The GOP is a force of evil now, but the GOP contains many good people who are unaware of the party's malice. I honestly feel that most of them are good and decent people who were hornswaggled by the rhetoric, the billion dollar propaganda machine, and the jingoistic way the media serves the current administration. Most of all, they were roped in with fear.

Think about it! We have our own soldiers and foreign journalists documenting how we used chemical weapons in Iraq -- the very country we invaded because we thought that their use invalidated the government there. The Pentagon has actually admitted to the use of white phosphorus, an agent that burns away flesh down to the bone. Despite these facts, is white phosphorus the new buzzword the way we learned the term "subborning perjury" in 1998? Subborn means convincing someone else to commit a crime for you. When Rush Limbaugh subborned his maid to buy his illegal drugs from drug dealers, were we re-acquainted with that S-word? I say that we liberals are too slow to show the bad things that the GOP does, especially the rank and file, which is becoming 20 times as hateful as any elected Republican. Even progressive, and usually correct, Ed Schultz, dismissed the white phosphorus story as a possible aluminum hat story when a caller phoned it in to him.

Let's call spades spades here: Our President is a war criminal. If you at all believe that he lied us into Iraq, then you believe that 2000 American soldiers are dead for a lie, that tens of thousands of Iraqis are dead, and the rest living in utter hell. People raped and tortured and kidnapped, all because we have a President who wants to look busy.

This is not hyperbole here: Our war criminal President, the one who went after Saddam for torture and murder, literally gets away with kidnapping, torture and murder. It's easy to find Republicans like Bill O'Reilly, who have advocated all of this. Rank and file Republicans tend to endorse it even more vehemently, as you will hear on my podcast later. Don't forget that we were softened up for the whole torture thing in late 2001 and pundit after pundit, out of the blue, began talking about it: "Would torture be okay if it led to the uncovering of a bomb hidden somewhere in an American city?" All of the talking heads said yes.

I want to expose hypocrisy, evil and greed to them and then ask them why they'd want to be a part of it. If I can save one good person from living their whole life in a hate group, this blog will have done its job.

Let's take a look a Senator Ted "No!" Stevens and how just this week, he allowed oil executives to repeatedly lie before Congress. How he forcefully refused to even discuss swearing in the executives. Why? Because, think about this, Our GOP controlled Congress, the same Congress that impeached President Clinton for lying, regularly lies to us.

There is no greater power in the land than the Congress. Not the White House, not the Supreme Court. The three branches share equal power, and oil companies have two branches of government in their hip pocket, so much so that they will openly lay in bed with them on national TV during a hearing. They just make sure that they're never sworn in, and apparently their friends too. Condoleeza, the incompetent National Security Advisor, who brought you such great hits as 911 and Iraq? The same person whose name graced the side of a Chevron Oil Tanker because even she's another lying oil magnet, caught lying on video in the interview for her current job? You've never seen her sworn in.

Dick Cheney and George Bush? Sure, they testified before the 911 Commission, but refused to be sworn in. They are liars, and the worst kind: the ruling kind that send 2000 men and women to die and sentence tens of thousands of Iraqis to die to make Bush and Cheney's and Rumsfeld and their friends' already unimaginably rich children even richer. It's all for naught on a national level, because we've found nothing, and they have the nerve to say, after we've destroyed their country, "Better them than us."
